Mr Christopher Lewis is a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon in Newcastle upon Tyne, working within the NHS at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. He trained in the UK and completed an international fellowship in major burn management and laser treatment in Perth, Western Australia. He is on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery and holds the FRCS (Plast), a Masters in Burn Care, and a PhD in stem cell biology.

 

He has an active academic and research profile, including grant-funded work focused on burn scarring. He presents regularly at national and international meetings and is widely published, with recognition through a number of professional awards.

 

In his NHS role as a Consultant Surgeon, Mr Lewis treats adults and children with major burn injuries, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, compassionate care. He also supports the development of burn care overseas through humanitarian work in Africa and serves as a Committee Member for the British Foundation for International Reconstructive Surgery and Training (BFIRST).

 

Mr Lewis leads the laser service in Newcastle upon Tyne and is the only Consultant Plastic Surgeon in the North East offering both NHS and cosmetic laser treatments for adults and children. He has extensive experience using laser technology to improve scars, alongside skin resurfacing and facial rejuvenation treatments. He offers personalised treatment plans using a range of modern laser and scar technologies, with procedures carried out at the Royal Victoria Infirmary.
