Mr Lewis provides independent expert opinion in civil and criminal proceedings involving burns, scarring, laser injury, plastic surgery trauma and reconstruction.
He accepts instructions in relation to adults and children, including civil litigation, clinical negligence claims and criminal proceedings. He may be instructed by claimant and defendant solicitors in civil matters and by both prosecution and defence solicitors in criminal cases.

Mr Lewis was awarded the Cardiff University Bond Solon Civil Expert Witness Certificate in 2026. This followed formal training and assessment in the principal legal, procedural and report-writing requirements of civil expert witness practice.
He has undertaken expert witness work since 2021 and regularly prepares reports for solicitors, medico-legal agencies and other instructing parties. His opinions are informed by current clinical practice, relevant evidence and his specialist experience in the management of burns, scars, laser-related conditions and reconstructive surgery.
Mr Lewis is experienced in preparing reports for claimants, defendants, the prosecution and the defence. He is also available for conferences with counsel, joint expert discussions and court attendance when required.
